Pediatric Urology has named its first Robert D. Jeffs International Fellow in Pediatric Urology: Raimondo Maximilian "Max" Cervellione. Cervellione, who joined Johns Hopkins this May, was appointed a post-doctoral fellow in Hopkins Children's Exstrophy Center through an agreement between the National Health Service of London and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He will train with Director of Pediatric Urology John P. Gearhart, an internationally-recognized expert in exstrophy surgery. At the completion of his year-long training, Cervellione returns to England to work as a specialist in the Center of Excellence in the Treatment of Bladder Exstrophy at the New Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.

A 1999 graduate of the University of Milan, Italy, Cervellione  trained in pediatric surgery at the University of Verona, Italy, before joining Manchester, as a fellow in pediatric urology and subsequent consultant.

His fellowship at Hopkins is funded by the National Health Service, in memory of the late Robert D. Jeffs, professor emeritus of pediatric urology at Johns Hopkins.
