Project HEAL, which began in September 2003, is a partnership between the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS) and the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.
Project HEAL is the only medical-legal partnership in Maryland offering on-site legal services and education for health care professionals. Project HEAL is a unique inter-disciplinary collaboration between attorneys and health care professionals that benefits low-income children and their families through free legal services and training of health care professionals to help them identify when their patients need legal services. More than 250 children annually receive legal assistance from Project HEAL.
