KEEP CLOWN CARE AT HOPKINS CHILDREN'S!
While funded in part by the Big Apple Circus in New York, Johns Hopkins’ Clown Care relies on the donations of families and friends every year to keep these wonderful characters here to delight and comfort patients, and even their caretakers. Our clown doctors are part-time at Hopkins, generally working three five-hour shifts a week. Beyond the hospital walls, they might be artists, writers, musicians or perhaps teachers.
Certainly accomplished performers, they have trained rigorously for hospital duty, learning about hospital protocols, cleanliness of props and communicating with hospital staff. Their continuing education includes participation in ongoing evaluations by hospital faculty, staff and families, and training workshops.
You can help ensure these skilled professionals will continue to brighten the days of hospitalized children with the medicine of laughter and gentle humor.
You may also make a donation in the name of someone you love.
