Biography:

At Hopkins Children’s, Allison Lorna Agwu, M.D., helped develop a novel Web-based antimicrobial approval program to safeguard patients and improve the efficiency in the prescribing of antibiotics. Her research and clinical interests include the study and treatment of Community-Acquired Methicillin Resistant  Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and drug-resistance in HIV patients.  

An assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Hopkins, Aqwu received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1999. She completed a residency in pediatrics and internal medicine at Case Western Reserve University/ University Hospitals of Cleveland/ Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, and a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

She holds a joint appointment in the Division of Adult Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins.
