Goals

• Develop a Hopkins Children’s philosophy of patient- and family-centered care that expands upon our mission statement, vision and core values.
• Assess and examine patient- and family-centered care “best practices” at other children’s hospitals.
• Expand and strengthen existing patient and family advisory councils.
• Assess and improve communication between medical staff and families.
• Include parents in clinical rounds.
• Incorporate a role for parents and family members in new-employee orientations and patient-care educational forums.
