General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine

The Johns Hopkins Children's Center is not only one of the premier children’s hospitals in the country, but a neighborhood hospital whose mission is to treat all sick children regardless of their financial capabilities. Hopkins Children’s has provided primary healthcare services to the underserved community since 1912 through the Harriet Lane Clinic.

The clinic cares for approximately 7,500 children and adolescents from East Baltimore with over 20,000 visits per year. More than 90% of patients served are on medical assistance.  The Bayview Pediatric Practice has an additional 9,000 visits per year.  These outpatient clincs serve as training sites for medical students, pediatric residents, and fellows. Our mission is to improve the health of children & adolescents within the context of their family and community and to educate trainees in this model of care.
