His investigations into possible therapeutic agents for deficiencies in the genetic protein fibrillin, which his research links to Marfan syndrome, has identified a promising target for therapy. In addition to his work on Marfan syndrome, Dr. Dietz is investigating the genetic factors involved in defects of the arterial wall and the aorta.
