Family Resource Center
The Grace Rea Garrett Children's Library and Mr. & Mrs. G. Lloyd Bunting Sr. Family Resource Center are located on third floor of Hopkins Children’s (CMSC 301). 
These libraries are located in the same suite and provide recreational reading for children and a place for children and their families to learn more about illness in a relaxed environment. The Children's Library for recreational reading has more than 1,000 books and videos for the entertainment and education of our patients. The Family Resource Center collection contains over 3,000 books, pamphlets, videotapes, and directories on the following topics:
- Illnesses, diseases, and disabilities
- Hospitalization
- Coping with prolonged illness
- Medications, tests and procedures
- Parenting
- Growth and development
- Nutrition
- Safety
- Sexuality
- Death and dying
- Special education needs

The Family Resource Center has a computer with Internet and email access that can be used by patients and their families. Both libraries contain comfortable separate video viewing areas.
Circulating b
ooks are for use in the hospital. A book drop is located adjacent to the library and on inpatient units for convenient return of materials. A photocopy machine is available for copying reference materials. The Resource Library staff is available during posted hours to assist families in locating print and online information, however, the staff cannot provide advice, opinions, interpretations or counseling. Published medical information often requires interpretation by medical professionals and can become outdated very quickly; so it is important to ask your health care providers any questions you have.
