Pediatric Plastic Surgery

The Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery divison at Hopkins Children's provides a complete range of general and specialized surgical services for children and adolescents affected with conditions, injuries or malformations, including:

Our surgeons specialize in reconstructive techniques for conditions commonly affecting children. Children requiring treatment are initially seen and followed after surgery in our outpatient clinics, such as the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center.

Surgery is performed in one of the 10 new general operating suites at The Charlotte R. Bloomberg Children's Center at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. It is staffed by pediatric anesthesia providers, who meet with the family and assess each child on the day of their surgery.

New Home for Our Inpatients

Our patients who need hospitalization for plastic or reconstrucitve surgery have a new home at Johns Hopkins: The Charlotte R. Bloomberg Children’s Center. Our new 205-bed building features:

Easy access via front entrance or pedestrian bridge to Orleans Street Garage and our Rubenstein Child Health Building.

Children with congenital syndromes often require evaluation or coordinated services with other specialists. Our craniofacial clinic provides the opportunity to organize any needed consultations or radiographic imaging that may be needed for surgery. Care is provided after surgery based on the result of surgery and the typical course of the original condition.
