Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery

Pediatric Plastic Surgery

The Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery divison at Hopkins Children's provides a complete range of general and specialized surgical services for children and adolescents affected with conditions, injuries or malformations, including:

Our surgeons specialize in reconstructive techniques for conditions commonly affecting children. Children requiring treatment are initially seen and followed after surgery in our outpatient clinics, such as the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center.

Surgery may be perfomed in JHOC or in the general operating room suites at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Both areas are staffed by pediatric anesthesia providers, who meet with the family and assess each child on the day of their surgery.

Children with congenital syndromes often require evaluation or coordinated services with other specialists. Our craniofacial clinic provides the opportunity to organizee any needed consultations or radiographic imaging that may be needed for surgery. Care is provided after surgery based on the result of surgery and the typical course of the original condition.
