The 21st annual MIX 106.5
Radiothon for the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center has raised more $800,000,
bringing the total raised to date to more than $13.1 million.
The numbers were unveiled Sunday
evening minutes after the Morning Show team signed off the air following a
marathon four-day live show broadcast from Hopkins Children’s.
“For 21 years now, MIX 106.5 has not
only been providing an inside peek into the world of Hopkins Children’s and the
lives of our patients, doctors, nurses and staff, but raised money to help
Hopkins Children’s do what it does best: Change the course of medicine, one
patient at a time, and we thank you for that,” said Hopkins Children’s Director
George Dover, M.D.
With this year’s Radiothon, Hopkins
Children’s launched a new multimedia “Caring for Kids” campaign to enhance its
outreach to new partners and supporters wanting to help our young patients. WMAR
ABC-2, a longtime supporter of Hopkins Children’s, joined forces with MIX 106.5
for one day, broadcasting live from the hospital lobby.
“Radiothon may be over until next
year, but our campaign continues and our work at Hopkins Children’s continues,”
Dover added. “Those wishing to pledge their support can still do so.”
