Dr. Anders currently serves as the Fellowship Director for Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She is deeply committed to the education of residents and fellows to supply high-quality practitioners to serve ill and injured children. She is keenly interested in several areas of research to improve emergency care of children, including acute pain assessment and treatment, and procedural sedation. Her current research studies include prehospital and inter-facility transport of children with cervical spine injury, transcriptional biosignatures of febrile infants, an electronic stethoscope to assess children with respiratory disease, and an electronic intervention to improve care of young women with pelvic inflammatory disease.
