Pediatric hematologist and physician scientist Clifford Takemoto joined the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1999 from Boston Children’s Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Currently an associate professor of pediatric hematology at Hopkins Children’s, he is also an adjunct investigator in pediatric oncology at the National Cancer Institute.
With a degree in medicine from the University of California at Irvine, Takemoto trained in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and in pediatric hematology and oncology at Boston’s Children’s, after completing a research fellowship in hematology and oncology in the Department of Virology at the National Children’s Medical Research Center, Tokyo, Japan. He was an instructor at Harvard Medical school in pediatric hematology oncology prior to joining the Johns Hopkins faculty.
