Camp All-Stars is an overnight camp for children, teens and young
adults with kidney disease. Organized by the Harriet Lane Kidney Center
in the Division of Pediatric Nephrology at
Hopkins Children's, the camp's mission is to empower patients and their
families through education about kidney disease and with social
interaction in a fun environment. This year's overnight camp takes place
at the Sandy Hill Camp and Retreat Center in North East, Md., Oct. 15-16.
Additional
camp counselors, nurses and activity assistants are needed that weekend
for the outdoor education program, to help kidney patients make new
friends and learn to manage the lifestyle regimens essential to their
health. Staff training is provided and begins Sept. 26 at Johns Hopkins.
Volunteer Application. Questions? Contact Dr. Arlene Gerson or Beth Bounds.
The Division of Pediatric Nephrology is grateful for the financial support provided by the National
Kidney Foundation and others who make this wonderful experience
possible for the campers. Download the 2011 Camp All-Stars Brochure (.pdf)
