Hopkins Children’s is a member hospital of the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN), an organization dedicated to helping raise funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals throughout North America.
Every year, business and corporations around the country join CMN in raising money for their local CMN-designated hospital(s). They hold in-store promotions, golf tournaments and other fundraisers like car washes and bake sales. The following are among the CMN-affiliates that raise money, through stores in the Baltimore region, for Hopkins Children’s.
- Auntie
Anne’s
stores collect money in canisters during the month of April and
participates in “Miracle Pretzel Day,” April
26, 2010.
- Costco Wholesale holds an annual fundraising campaign. Its 2010 campaign runs from
May 1-31.
- Credit
Unions for Kids
hosts the annual
Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run every April.
- Dairy
Queen
runs a month-long (May 17-Aug 5, 2010)
campaign and participates in CMN’s “Miracle Treat Day,” Aug. 5, 2010.
- Food Lion hosts
two annual fundraising campaigns: June 2-22, 2010. In 2009, Food
Lion raised more than $120,000 for Hopkins Children’s.
- Johns Hopkins Federal Credit Union hosts an annual golf tournament. In 2010, it is held June 4.
- Marriott hosts a Torch
Relay, with Food Lion, Oct. 9, 2010, in Baltimore.
- Tower Federal Credit Union hosts an annual golf tournament every spring (this year's is June 4) and a campaign every February.
- Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club raises thousands of dollars at checkout lines, by asking
shoppers if they would like to donate to CMN, and by hosting bake sales
and golf tournaments. It’s 2010 campaign is May
1-June 19.
