The Division of Pediatric Hematology cares for patients with diseases of the blood or blood forming organs with the latest technologies and scientific discoveries, tempered by a history of clinical excellence at Johns Hopkins.

The division maintains active clinical practices in both inpatient and outpatient units and provides a number of important services, such as the Comprehensive Hemophilia Treatment Center for the State of Maryland. In 2008, the division received a $5 million grant to establish a basic and translational sickle cell research center.

On the teaching side, the division offers a joint Hematology-Oncology fellowship training program  with the Johns Hopkins Oncology Center. In addition, the division has a spectrum of hematological research programs offering a variety of experimental inquiries into the causes and treatment of blood disorders.

The division's nine full-time and part-time faculty members have received national and international recognition for their scholarly activities and serve on dozens of advisory boards, editorial boards, and program committees relevant to their respective areas of expertise.
